I am so over large businesses that no longer care about providing decent customer service. This location of Petco is probably the worst experience I have ever had as a customer. I tried for months to get a hold of someone in the grooming area and they never answered the phone. I continued to try because we just moved and one of the things that appealed about the location was because petco was so close and we have always taken our dogs to be groomed at their stores. We have done the Draper location (awesome staff) and the west jordan location. I finally got a hold of the South Jordan location today and was told because my dogs are 10 years old and have not been to this location before they won't take them. My dogs were ten years old six months ago when I took them to the west jordan location and they had never been there before. No problem that time. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was willing to drive to Draper to have the dogs cut, but now I won't give Petco any more of my money. That's a good couple hundred dollars every few months. THANKS FOR NOTHING!
Must have new staff at grooming dept. Now my dog is too old to be groomed, can't take another to have nails clipped because it's too large and can't be on calming medicine. Long time customer with three dogs will go elsewhere for now on.
I have been taking my dog to the groomer at Petco for a number of years. In the last month I have attempted on 4 separate occasions to make a grooming appointment only to be told the grooming salon has closed early, or no one is available to make an appointment or they simply don't answer the phone. Absolutely horrible customer service lately. I should not have to beg to use your services. I'll be going elsewhere.
Two stars b/c in general it's a Petco and they have had things I've needed in the past. I went in a few weeks ago (end of August) for a thunder shirt. I walked in and two associates were in the front talking. I stopped to ask where to gets the thunder shirt and was ignored for a few minutes then when I asked I was told "I think they are in aisle x" with a point towards the other side of the store. I guess I have been spoiled by having other stores with a "walk you to it policy". I went in search of them to no avail. I stood at the end of the aisle to get help two associates walked past not making eye contact or stopping when I said "excuse me". Finally I got one of them and was told "oh we had a rush on those for July 4 so we are out". More than a month later?! So I ordered them online and went today to return the one I didn't want (since I couldn't size it in the store I got two sizes just in case). I just spent 10 minutes with an associate who didn't know how to do the return and another associate she asked for help telling her to get someone else while he started checking out everyone behind me. I will go to PetSmart to avoid this place if at all possible.
Very helpful staff with a lot of options available. They have a 3rd party company who helps in the adoption of cats. I was able to adopt our cat from here. The staff is helpful and friendly.
